Monthly Meetings

Meetings are held on a Saturday at a different location throughout the Wellington Region.

From 11 – 3.30pm they include worship, prayer, testimony, lunch and a practical speaker or interactive workshop.

Next Meeting Dates are on

Saturday 21st August, 11am-3.30pm.  Kapiti Salvation Army, 41 Bluegum Road, Paraparaumu Beach.  For those travelling by train, there will be transport available from Paraparaumu Station at 11am.  Please advise Lyn if you will be there. The train leaves Wellington at 10am and arrives in Paraparaumu at 10.55am.  Return journey will be on the 4.05pm train which arrives in Wellington at 5pm.  A Day Rover ticket can be purchased for $10.  Please bring $5 for lunch.  Our Guest Speaker is Jack Guerin from Waikanae Apostolic Church.

 

Saturday 18th September, 11am-3.30pm.  Tawa New Life Church, 236 Main Road, Tawa.  Please bring $5 for lunch and something to share for afternoon tea. 

 

Saturday 16th October, 11am-3.30pm.   Wellington Central Church,  39 Webb St. Please bring $5 for lunch and  something to share for afternoon tea.  Rob McLeod will speak on Ministry by Design - ”Discover How God Wired You Up”!

Christian Fellowship For Disabled

Are a group of Christians who love God, and meet regularly to share, support and encourage one another in our Christian walk.

The activities of the Wellington Branch of CFFD are open to any person who wishes to take part, whether disabled or not.

Some of us have some sort of disability and some do not – all are welcome

Up the Ramp (Friendship and Support Centre) 

Lower Hutt Assembly of God, 22 Marsden Street, Lower Hutt.

Thursday 19th August, 10.30am.  You are invited to a ‘Smorgasbord of Speakers’ -

(stories of personal pilgrimages interspersed with information about disability

services offered by various agencies).  A light lunch will be provided afterwards.

Thursday 2nd September - The Drop-In Centre is open from 10am-2pm.  Come for however long you can - for the whole time, an hour or so - just whatever fits in with your schedule!!!  Bring your own lunch.

Thursday 16th September, 10.30am.  As yet, an unconfirmed speaker.  A light lunch will be provided and all are welcome.

Prayer Meetings & Home Groups

Monthly prayer meetings are held in Lower Hutt. Prayer co-ordinators oversee the meeting and also invite requests for the branch prayer chain.

A home group meets monthly on a Monday night in Wainuiomata from 7-9pm. This provides small group support and encouragement, in an accessible home.

Camps Information

The Wellington Branch organizes a regional camp, each year in February./March

At El Rancho Christian Camp in Waikanae where there is comfortable facilities and the opportunity to try a wide range of outdoor activities makes this a popular weekend event of fun and fellowship.

Publications

The Wellington branch distributes a regular NEWSLETTER, keeping everyone informed of up-coming happenings and events of interest. To received a copy of the newsletter contact Lyn Hawkins.

 

The Christian Ministries With Disabled Trust publishes a national magazine quarterly, called The ENCOURAGER.

Both are free and are mailed extensively throughout New Zealand.

 

Several different Booklets are available containing information on various subjects

                                              Titles include

  • Enabling people with disabilities.
  • Helpful hints for new helpers.
  • Communication.
  • Skits & dramas.
  • Small group meetings
  • Taking an intellectual disabled group.
  • A wealth of ideas for meetings.

These free booklets are full of helpful tips about caring for and ministering to people with disabilities.
