ABOUT the CMWDT news
Why do we have news ? The quick answer is "because there is some" - and we want people to know about it. The CMWDT with all its associated bits and pieces (just look at the top of the page) is alive and active, with many people doing their best to do God's work throughout the country. Some of us have disabilities, and some of us don't, but we're all concerned that people should know that though our disabilities might make it hard for us to do some things we'd like to do, they are no obstacle to God's grace - and because of what we do, we know, day by day, that His grace is active and working among us. And what better news could there be than that ? There are lots of other reasons for having news. For example, if you tell us about a good idea you've had that works, then perhaps someone else will be able to use it too; or if you tell us about something inspiring that's happened, we can all learn from it; or if you tell us about special achievements, we can all thank God for them. And don't forget that the Christian life is all about spreading the Good News! What's in the news? At this moment it's pretty well anything people care to send us that looks like news. What we want it to be is anything about what's going on now, what will be going on soon, and what has just been going on and how it went. What we have so far are copies of the various areas' supplements in the Encourager, and a space for branch newsletters. Other sorts might come along later - watch this space! We are sure that there's a lot more going on that would be worth putting in the news, but we don't know what it is. We'd like to include anything about events to do with the CMWDT, or other Christian topics, particularly if they're connected with disabilities. If you have any ideas about what should be here, please tell us about them. Where does it come from? All we have so far has come from the organisations. It's good to have their material, but there's no reason why other people shouldn't send their news. Can I get my news in there? Yes, we hope. At the moment we have no special place to put news that people send us, but that's only because we haven't received any. Send it along, and we'll find somewhere to put it. There's an exception; we won't include news that's rude or hurtful or unfriendly, or anything like that. We hope that we won't get any, because it's not how Christians should behave - and that's St Paul speaking, not us: "... fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable. ... And the God who gives us peace will be with you." Philippians 4.8 |
