| Wellington Meetings
February meeting : 21 February, Wellington Central Church.
It was an awful day - weatherwise - high wind with rain, but it was cosy in Wellington central church.
Nadine Martin, who is a young woman with a rare condition and a wheelchair, shared her testimony and answered questions, very openly. She has a positive outlook on life and her attitude is a shining example to us all.

April meeting : 17 April, CCC Woburn.
Reports were given by Chairman John Hawkins, and Camp Coordinator Janet Meehan. The Finance report was given by Tony Voss, Wainuiomata Homegroup report by Chris Lusk, and Up the Ramp Friendship Centre Report by Lyn Hawkins. All these reports reminded us that Wellington CFFD is certainly alive and moving forward. Three new committee members were appointed and add to the seven already serving you (see the prayer list for names).
The afternoon was taken up with a Pop Quiz. The quiz involved different sounds, slogans, bible knowledge and word puzzles, stretching all of us. YAY for members of Team 3 who scored the most points :

March Meeting with Pauline Gould.
Pauline Gould is no stranger to disability. She has MS (Multiple Sclerosis); and, having worked in a hospital in earlier years, became interested in the healing ministry. She spoke of attending a Kathryn Kuhlman meeting in Miami (USA) where there was a real anointing. Many people were touched, some even rising from their wheelchairs!
She and her husband, Geoff, lived in Fiji, Samoa and Indonesia as well as USA. In Indonesia, Pauline joined a ministry to slum dwellers which started an income with them, selling cards.
In Fiji and in Samoa she got together with other expats to play music and learn choruses. The object was not to entertain but to worship Jesus in rest homes and in other "shut-in"places. This group were able to minister and share Jesus with Muslims
In one hospital, Pauline witnessed and ministered to a lady who had murdered her husband. When this lady left hospital to serve her prison term, she was able to minister mightily in turn.
She had advice for us all :-
- We all have needs - we are to worship and praise the Lord whatever our suffering. We may be "there for such a time as this" (Est 4:14).
- Agree with God's word whatever the circumstances.
- Declare the works of the Lord (Mark 4:8). Tell people what He has done.
- Daily, declare the word of the Lord over your body (Ex 15:26, Prov 4:20-22).

REFLECTION ON REGIONAL CAMP by Dave Lusk
Helen Bently and Dave Lusk.
A key highlight of CFFD Wellington Camp 2004 was the Saturday night talk by Trish Holdaway.
Trish's message was based on Jeremiah 29:11 : "For I know the plans I have for you...plans to give you hope and a future."
We are all a part of God's plan and God has a plan for each of us - a unique and special role that only we can fulfil.
The problem with this, Trish was saying, lies in that often we have no idea what our role or purpose is - just what is it that God has in mind for us ??
This can be very confusing!!
In order to explain our predicament, Trish gave the analogy of a jigsaw puzzle. This is often how life seems. We have a few of the pieces and we are attempting to see the big picture with not a lot of information. Often we are in a position of simply having to trust God and knowing that we can trust him (Hebrews 11:7). Sometimes we think God wants us to struggle and be miserable, but when we love someone we can trust them. We CAN trust God because he loves us and has our best interests at heart. We can know and trust that God will reveal the pieces to us as we need to know them - and in his perfect time.
Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you shall find!
Trish gave everyone a piece of jigsaw puzzle as a reminder of God's big plan.
This was a simple but very powerful message, one that it is so easy to lose sight of in the busyness of life. Sometimes it's as simple as saying God is in control and everything will work out! I found that very encouraging!
Thanks Trish for a strong message of hope!!
