News from earth, June 2005 -

Auckland Committee

We have had a very busy 5 months, especially with the Fruitful Harvest and Camp. Vanessa did an amazing job with profiling the CFFD ministry through many disability organisations within the Central Area. Thank you so much to everyone that took part in helping and organising the various activities we had. Camp was also great - we had Julian Batchelor as our speaker who equipped us in evangelising the gospel in an effective way.

And just last week, the AGM ( Vanessa has now aptly called it About God's Ministry, instead of the Annual General Meeting ) was held where we re-elected members for the committee. They are :

  • Jean Griffiths ( Chairperson ),
  • Vanessa Creamer ( Secretary ),
  • John Beetge ( Treasurer ),
  • Alison Ryan,
  • Michael Stoneham,
  • Timothy Donnell and
  • Jade O'Leary.

We farewelled Dave Ryan - thank you, Dave - and introduce Tim, as well as Pastor Robbie Burns who will be our Spiritual Advisor, along with Barry Charlton.

Two clowns talking to two children, outdoors on grass. Other people are present, and there are tables in the background. One child is carrying a balloon; another balloon is carried by someone just out of the picture.   Three people in wheelchairs on grass, perhaps playing a game. Trees and a house are in the background.

Two photos from the Gala Day, brilliantly organized by Vanessa Creamer.

PROFILE

Tim

Kia Ora! Some people call me Tim - feel free to join that number. If I was to summarise myself I'd say I was a keen bloke - keen about lots of things... sport ( anything! ), music ( playing the saxophone, the tuba and the sound desk ), Louisa ( my girlfriend! ), kids ( especially the ones at Windsor Park Baptist who like listening to me teach ), long walks along the beach - that kind of thing...

I am also studying sociology and working towards a teaching degree at the University of Auckland. The main reason why I get up in the morning though, is my living and breathing relationship with Jesus. He has me on a great journey of learning! Woohoo! Just recently, He even managed to put me on the CFFD committee - Wow! I reckon that good teachers are just passionate learners, and boy, I quickly learnt that people with disabilities have a lot to teach people like me. So here I am - keen - real keen to learn the lessons that God is especially tailoring for me to share. How exciting is that?!! Amen!

Photograph of Tim, looking at the camera. He seems to be standing up, either waving or dancing.
