News from earth, August 2005 -

Auckland Committee

The devotion from our last committee meeting was from Ps 37 "Trust in the Lord". With all that's happening in Israel and England with the suicide bombings, it brings to attention how futile the bombers lives had become at such an early age. Because they had no hope in the Lord, they had no future. The future for CFFD is dependent on God - if we spend time with Him, hear His voice and delight in His presence, He says He will give us the desires of our hearts, meet our needs and fulfill His purposes through us. Please continue to pray for the committee members and CFFD ministry.

To the world
You might be just somebody;

To somebody
You might just be the world.

PROFILE

Alan Hamilton

Hi, my name is Alan Hamilton. I grew up in Flatbush, Otara, where I lived with my parents until they passed away. I now live in Manurewa in a lovely unit. I was introduced to CFFD through Renaissance and I come into the Drop-in-centre once a week. I love mixing and mingling with other folks and I love grooving to the worship songs and helping out. I learn a lot too. I love coming to the camps - they really rock! I also love to go camping at Maraehako, near the East Cape, with my Uncle. I love going to Rainbows End because the rides are exciting. Photograph of Alan.

This is Alan.

AREA GATHERINGS

Area groups are a necessity because Auckland is spread out and not everyone is able to attend the main events. To break into the different regions gives an opportunity for most people to participate in a CFFD gathering. So last month the North Shore Area group got together for a movie night, which was an enjoyable evening.

Also, the Central Area group had a fun day discovering how our bodies function at a Body Odyssey Exhibition. It was interactive with sound effects, as we walked through the mouth and down through the intestines and organs. We were able to fight our monster green germs, check out our heart and put the puzzle together of our brain.

If anyone is interested in having a group begin in their area, give Jean a call.

About eighteen people, at least three in wheelchairs, gathered under a sign which reads : BODY ODYSSEY, Journey through the human body

Central Area group at the exhibition.

WORLD VISION

Please continue to pray for Daniel Gunta. This is a recent photo of Daniel, who seems to be all smiles. He is now in Middle School. He learns Maths, English, History and Hindi, with Geography as his favourite subject. He plays marble stone and enjoys singing. He writes "Greetings to you. I am keeping well here. This year I am studying in 7th class. Thank you very much for your support and love."

Daniel is sitting cross-legged on a chair, looking straight at the camera with a beaming smile.
