Prayers

  Thanks for answered prayer :
Thank You, Father, for continuing to answer prayer.
Bless You and praise Your holy name.

PRAYER CHAIN

The Prayer Chain continues to be available to all CFFD people. Please phone Jean Fergusson.

God hears and answers prayer. It is up to us to tell Him of our needs.

The Five Finger Prayer

  1. Your thumb is nearest you - so begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, "a sweet duty".

  2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

  3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the prime minister, leaders in business and industry and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

  4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher would testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

  5. And last comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all, which is where we should place ourselves, in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your little finger should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Auckland Committee

It has been a year of celebrating God's faithfulness for this amazing ministry and I know the committee feels privileged to be part of it. Having come back from the National camp and being at many others in the past, I can truly say that God has established a very unique ministry where you see Jesus in action through his people. He wants us to be His hands and feet, whether disabled or abled. As He works through us, He also works on us as we develop into His image. One thing that spoke to me at camp was - we (the disabled) already attract people's attention, why not use it to our advantage for Christ, instead of limiting what can be done through us ?

The Committee is having a day of prayer and seeking God's guidance for 2007. Please pray for us as we get together early December.

PROFILE

Hi ! This is Yung. I am 23 years old, and I have cerebral palsy.

I enjoy going to the movies, especially action-packed ones. I love sports, where I play botcha and ten-pin bowling. I have won a few trophies through some of the competitions. I also go to Panacea arts on Wednesday mornings.

Sometimes I go home for the day to see my family.

I share a house with three others in Mangere Bridge. In my spare time I see friends, work on my computer and listen to music. I went to National Camp with Peter Hewitt and met Di, and she invited me to come to the Centre. Now I have been going there for two years, and I love it.
