News from earth, June 2007 -

A Note from the Auckland Committee

It was wonderful to receive a large group of new helpers at camp this year, which was much needed because we had lots of people in wheelchairs. Thank you very much for all those who came. Our theme was "LIGHT", which was very appropriate because the weekend definitely put on that persona. To me, it seemed that a lot of faces really shone as the campers served unconditionally.

2 Corinthians 3 17-18 describes it well: "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

This is what makes the camp a success. It was also great to meet a lot of new people, especially children. Next year's camp will be held a month earlier on the 28th-30th March 2008. If you would like a CD of lots of photos of the camp or a DVD, they are $5 each - contact Jean. Here are some samples ( - but the pictures on the disc are of much better quality ! ) :

PROFILE

My name is Ian Sinclair and I am 28 years old. My family shifted to Hawkes Bay when I was 6. 1 was born with a Cleft Lip and Palate. I had surgery from when I was a baby through to my early teens. My last surgery was a bone graft operation in 1994 at Hutt Hospital in Wellington. I have been through a lot of tough times in my life but I know that God is always there.

I have been back in Auckland since 2003. 1 am working for a Christian unity organisation called Vision Network of New Zealand. I attend Christian Life Centre Auckland and am a part of the team that runs the song words, Power Points and videos (graphics).

Since 2004 1 have been helping and also have been running the audio visual for the CMWDT National camps at Totara Springs. I became involved at last year's CFFD camp at Carey Park helping and running the audio visual. This year I have been on the Auckland Camp Committee and am now also on the Auckland CFFD Committee. I look forward to becoming more involved in the life of Auckland CFFD.

A S A P

Ever wonder about the abbreviation A.S.A.P?

Generally we think of it in terms of more hurry and stress in our lives.

Maybe if we think of this abbreviation in a different manner, we will begin to find a new way to deal with those rough days along the way ......

There's work to do, deadlines to meet;
You've got no time to spare.
But as you hurry and scurry -
A.S.A.P - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER !

In the midst of family chaos,
"Quality time" is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest -
A.S.A.P - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER !

It may seem like your worries
are more than you can bear.
Slow down and take a breather -
A.S.A.P - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER !

God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our cares,
And He'll respond to all your needs
A.S.A.P - ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER !
