News from earth, August 2007 -

AUCKLAND CFFD COMMITTEE

by Jean Griffiths

This month I can truly say that God is Jehovah Jireh, my Provider. So many things I have thanked Him for because they have been answers to prayer. Why am I so amazed with His provision? It is because God isn't just meeting my needs, but He goes above and beyond. I'm reminded of the scripture in Luke 6:38 "Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Another verse comes to mind too from Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these will be given to you as well." Admittedly I know I don't deserve the things He gives because my righteousness is incomparable to God's, but God says as we seek His righteousness, He will fulfil our needs. He never fails and that is what blows my mind.

"Rejoice Concert" was one of the answered prayers. Having had 3 items cancelled the week it was on, I prayed that God would come to the rescue. Two hours later North Shore Community Church rang asking if their Youth group could volunteer their services helping in any way, and they could also do items if needed. What an answer that was - not only filling the programme, but help with setting up, doing afternoon tea and cleaning up. That was a good measure shaken together and running over. It was also a wonderful, fun-packed afternoon.

Yes, He is our wondrous God!!!

Following in the Master's footsteps

by Jenny Hook

Following in the Master's footsteps
Listening to His words,
Living with Him observing all He does
Watching how He lives and the values He upholds,
Then going out and doing it
Until the Master is within you,
His life now becomes your own.

Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark ...

ONE :Don't miss the boat.
TWO :Remember that we are all in the same boat.
THREE :Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR :Stay fit. When you're as old as Grandpa , someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE :Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX :Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN :For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT :Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE :When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN :Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN :No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
