The Wellington Regional camp was enjoyed by all who came. People from Auckland, Levin, Wanganui, Palmerston North, and several other areas had a most fulfilling time of fun and fellowship. The theme "Free to worship Thee" was apparent throughout the camp.
The Camp Organizers played a major role in uniting and keeping things running smoothly, so we are really grateful to Viv and Ric Hurrell, Lyn and John Hawkins and John Ravensbourne and some other people who planned and kept troubles to a minimum.
Ric, true to character, wore a jester's hat and he was also the first to get the Wooden Spoon. Of course throughout the camp others very deservedly wore it.
Phil Fairbrass was our speaker and the simple down to earth humorous way he put things was good. I know a lot of people really praised God for his meaningful messages. On Friday night he spoke about how people can irritate and anger us, using a block of wood, a chisel and a hammer, and how we can overcome these situations and forgive others even when we don't feel like it.
On the Saturday morning we met and praised God and then were divided into groups for the Team Challenge Games. Everybody was able to take part, and an obstacle course, petanque, peg tagging and mini-golf were only some of the games that we all participated in with laughter, enthusiasm and friendly rivalry at times.
