Spring has sprung after what turned out to be a very wet Winter!! Now we can look forward to seeing many more of you at our gatherings as you emerge from your hibernation and the warmer weather and longer days approach.

Saturday 20th September

Avalon Assembly of God, cnr High & Daysh Streets, Lower Hutt 11am-3.30pm. Bring $5 for lunch and something to share for afternoon tea.

Friday 24th October to Monday 27th October

(Labour Weekend), National Camp, Totara Springs, Matamata. Registration Forms need to be sent to Lyn Hawkins immediately, so the transport can be arranged. Closing date is ¬26th September. Please request a Form from Lyn if you haven’t got one.

Saturday 15th November

The Coast Community Church, 57 Hinemoa St, Paraparaumu 11am-3.30pm. Bring your own lunch and something to share for afternoon tea. If you are catching the train, please be on the 10am from Wellington. It is important that you let John or Lyn know that you will be on the train, so we can organize a group booking and also have enough vehicles at the station to transport you all the short distance to the venue. For the return journey, the train departs at 3.35pm and arrives in Wellington at 4.30pm `

Saturday 6th December

St John’s Anglican Church, 561 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt.
The entrance to the hall where we will meet is off Smallfield Lane which is off Moonshine Road.
This will be our Christmas Function and will be an afternoon of social activities, followed by a BBQ tea. More details will be forthcoming, such as time, cost etc, nearer the date. Mark this in your diaries now!!

Some transport to meetings is available at a cost of $5 for those physically unable to use public transport (and others if there is room). Please note – a Mobility Taxi Voucher must be used by someone on the taxi. If you need transport, please contact Dave Lusk (tel: 478-7674) no later than the Wednesday before the meeting.

Sympathy

Our Sincere Sympathy and Prayers are extended to -
the family and friends of Donald Macklin who passed away at the beginning of July after being ill for a while. Our thoughts are especially with Carolyn Tanner who was his ever-faithful friend, supporter and mentor;

Linda Paea, whose father passed away in July;

the family and friends of John Gerraty who passed away accidently in August, especially to May, Margaret and Beverley, his dear friends and housemates at MASH House in Totara Park

Prayer Meeting

The CFFD Prayer Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month at 7.30pm under the guidance of Julian & Irene Paton. All are welcome. For further details, please ring them on ring Julian & Irene are also our Prayer Chain Co-ordinators - please ring them with your prayer requests.

With our ever-growing mailing list and the increase in postal charges, we now need to look at ways to reduce costs. Emailing, instead of posting, our newsletter to as many people as possible is one way of doing this. Mobility Equipment For Hire

John & Lyn Hawkins have wheelchairs, walking frames, commode/shower chairs and a personal hoist for short or long term hire at very competitive rates. For further information, please ring them.

Home-Group Meetings

There is a CFFD Home-group operating at Maddison in Karori. If you are interested in attending, ring Evelyn Churchill or email Teresa Stuart on teeee@clear.net.nz.

There is also a church-affiliated, disability-friendly home-group on Tuesday evenings at Avalon Assembly of God, Lower Hutt which you are welcome to attend. If you are interested, ring John Hawkins.
